For almost two years now, Bleacher Report has spoofed HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones and turned it into “Game of Zones,” a running Web series that pokes fun at the NBA. For their latest installment, they put together an episode called “The Purple Retirement” that focuses on the final days of Kobe Bryant’s career. And it’s pretty funny.
In the episode, Kobe sons Dwight Howard (and the 76ers!), gets stood up by Michael Jordan, and refuses to pass the torch to any of his current Lakers teammates (sorry, D’Angelo Russell). And at the end, he punctuates the episode with the perfect punchline. Check out the clip above to see how BR handled Kobe’s impending retirement.
