Detroit Lions defensive tackle Khyri Thornton couldn't have known that his act of generosity earlier this week would have been a "blessing in disguise" for his server.

On Wednesday, Khyri went to O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar in Panama City, Fla. with his family. When the check came in, the 26-year-old left a tip of $250 on a $304.94 bill for his server, Tailor Thorne. According to Panama City Beach's WJHG, Tailor needed to undergo a medical procedure as soon as possible, but after getting dropped by her health insurance company because she "makes too much money for the coverage," she needed $250 just to pay for her pre-operation appointment. Thornton's gratuity covered the entire cost.

Tailor never got the opportunity to personally thank Thornton for his generosity, telling WJHG, "he really doesn't understand how much of a blessing he was how just how thankful not only me but my family."
