It's not La Liga or the Premier League, but don't dismiss the quality of Major League Soccer.

In last night's game between San Jose Earthquakes and Portland Timbers, Earthquakes' forward Quincy Amarikwa scored a goal that's already a contender for the league's 'Goal of the Season' award.

Picking up the ball inside his own half, Amarikwa battled through a sea of bodies before powering down the pitch and playing a pitch-perfect chip over the head of the scrambling Timbers goalkeeper.

It had to be the perfect hit to work. And it was.
