Joe Johnson Might Be Headed to Cleveland Soon

It might be just Brook Lopez's team from now on.

Joe Johnson was never the star the Nets needed him to be. That's part of the reason the Nets are as bad as they are now (although the larger part of the blame falls on the management). Brooklyn is going to continue to flounder, but Johnson may no longer have to do so with them.

Cleveland.com's Chris Haynes reports that Johnson could join the Cavaliers if Nets agree to a buyout of his $25 million contract. First of all, yes, Johnson is getting $25 million this season. Secondly, are the Nets willing to buy out his contract and consequently help the Cavs instead of just letting him play out the season?

If they are, the Cavaliers will get Johnson to join a rotation that also includes Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith, two men who also can't carry a team, but are definite assets to a championship-caliber squad.
