Borussia Dortmund fans are united with Liverpool in protesting high ticket prices.

Fans of the German team pelted the pitch with tennis balls during the club's German Cup game with Stuttgart, forcing the game to be halted while the club's players helped clean up.

Supporters also boycotted the first 20 minutes of the game in protests that were held in objection to the rising costs of away tickets in German football. A match ticket for the tie with Stuttgart was priced as high as £55.

Talking to the BBC World Service, Dortmund fan Marc Quambusch revealed his club stood in solidarity with Liverpool:

"We don't feel very good about not supporting the team for the first 20 minutes, but it has to be.

As for why the club used tennis balls? No, we don't get it either.
