Every football fan over 21 remembers watching Peyton Manning's aerial miracles with Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. In 2016, Manning is far past his prime and Harrison is long retired. We'll be saying goodbye to Wayne, too.
The 37-year-old wide receiver told CBS 4 Indianapolis that 2015 was his last season in the NFL: "Yeah, I'm done. ... It was fun, but it's time. It's just time."
Wayne's body has been breaking down for a while. He spent 2014 struggling with lingering injuries and 2015 in free agency. But make no mistake in thinking that he wasn't one of the greatest receivers of the past 15 years. He's been also one of the NFL's most consistent, earning over 1,000 receiving yards in eight of his 14 seasons.
He ranks No. 8 all-time in receiving yards (14,345) and retires with a Super Bowl ring and six Pro Bowls to his name.
