It's official: Cristiano Ronaldo is jealous of Real Madrid teammate, Gareth Bale.
There have long been rumours that Ronaldo and Bale – who have a similar playing style and could both argue to be Real's poster boy – aren't the best of friends when they're off the pitch and a story from a journalist appears to confirm it.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5Live, Sunday Times correspondent Jonathan Northcroft revealed that in the process of writing a feature on Gareth Bale, Real Madrid asked him to leave out any mention of Gareth Bale's world record transfer fee – because it upsets Cristiano Ronaldo:
“Real Madrid is a club that is so worried about image that when I interviewed Gareth Bale earlier in the season, it was requested to me: ‘Don’t put in the transfer fee. Don’t put in the article what Gareth Bale cost.
It's no surprise to anyone that Ronaldo is a bit of a prima donna.
