The New England Patriots took care of business by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-20, in the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday evening. Per usual, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady led the charge with 28 of 42 completions, totaling 302 yards, and no interceptions. He was absolutely on fire, as he thrown 13 straight passes on point to completion, with passer rating of 99 or higher during in four consecutive playoff games dating back to last year.

It was a record-setting night for Brady (his 30th career postseason game, and 17 career playoff games with at least two touchdowns or more thrown, both an NFL record) and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who caught two touchdowns, and is now the NFL's all-time leader in career touchdowns by a tight end. So much for him being questionable before today's game after being checked into a Boston hospital this past Wednesday, because Gronkowski went 54 of 59 snaps. Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who had not played a game since  November 15th due to a broken bone in his foot, returned to starting offensive lineup and caught two touchdowns.

The Chiefs offense couldn't get their passing together like Brady, as their quarterback Alex Smith threw a career high of 50 passes, but averaged less than 5 yards per attempt. Kansas City trailed the entire game, and were down by two touchdowns during the fourth quarter. But they just couldn't climb back to tie the game.

The Patriots face the winner of the Steelers-Broncos AFC Divisional Playoff matchup in the AFC Championship.
