Late in the first half of Tuesday night's contest between the Pelicans and the Timberwolves, Kevin Garnett got tangled up with Ryan Anderson as the two were running down the court.

Or, to put it another way, Anderson got in Garnett's way, so Garnett raised his arm up and hit him in the face.

Garnett doing something like this is far from surprising, but the way the referees viewed the play certainly was. A foul was called on Anderson for some reason, and it was even upheld after the referees went to a video review.

"Obviously he was doing little tactics to get me frustrated," Anderson said afterward. "He's just really good at getting away with stuff like that. I'm not saying he's like a ridiculously dirty player. He just has that physical type of game."

Nice of Anderson to take the high road here, but we'll call this play what it was: Dirty, any way you slice it.
