How good of a fighter is CM Punk going to be in the UFC?

At this point, it’s impossible to say, seeing as how he hasn’t actually taken part in a match yet. It sounds like he might finally be on the verge of fighting at some point this year (maybe this summer?). But even if he does, it’ll probably take him two or three fights to establish any sort of identity.

EA Sports has to give him some kind of rating in their new game, EA Sports UFC 2, though, and it sounds like that rating is going to be fairly high. Reporter Mike Bohn got to take UFC 2 for a test drive recently and, when he played it, Punk was rated an 85 out of 100:

Here's first image of @CMPunk from the new EA UFC 2 video game. His character was rated 85 out of 100 when I played. https://t.co/E6Ifqanpxk

That rating did seem a tad high, especially when you consider that it’s not really based on anything. But the game also isn’t out yet, so there’s a chance it could go down, right? Well, don’t tell that to the scores of fans who couldn’t believe Punk’s initial rating. They jumped on Twitter to sound off on it:

Hey! This is cool. I hope it makes dummies furious. https://t.co/HpzbGzvX6i

Since then, Kotakuhas spoken with an EA Sports rep, who has confirmed that the rating isn’t finalized yet. But regardless of what his rating is, Punk delivered a message to all those fans who are upset about it. He started things off by sending this tweet to point out that he's in the game:

Not since Samus Aran was revealed to be a woman have dummies been this butt hurt about a video game.

And he followed that up with this tweet, which features a Metroid reference that you don't really have to understand to get Punk's point:

Yikes. Punk hasn’t taken part in a single fight, and he’s already made his fair share of enemies in the world of MMA.
