Take a breath.

Kai Forbath nailed a 50-yard field goal as time expired to give the Saints a 52-49 victory over the Giants in a shootout Sunday that produced historic numbers thanks to the performances of Drew Brees and Eli Manning

The signal callers helped set or tie NFL records like:

  1. 13 combined TD passes, an NFL record.
  2. 101 combined points, the third most in NFL history.
  3. 64 combined first downs, tying an NFL record.

Brees himself had a career day, torching the Giants beleaguered pass defense to the tune of 7 TDs, tying an NFL record.

He also set numerous Saints passing records and in his 10th game with five or more touchdown passes, tying him with Eli's brother Peyton for the most in NFL history.

The future Hall of Famer really got things going with a first quarter going with a first quarter flea flicker and the Giants defense, which came into the game ranked 30th in the NFL against the pass, had no answer for Brees.

Manning took advantage of the poor Saints pass defense as well, throwing for 350 yards and 6 TDs, setting an NFL record he'd prefer not to own.

Meanwhile, Odell Beckham Jr. finished with 130 yards and 3 TDs and debuted a new touchdown celebration. Beckham Jr. now has 19 career TD receptions in his first 20 games, trailing only Randy Moss who holds the record with 20.
