Ray Lewis should probably stop talking. Or at least, stop talking recklessly. It’ll be difficult, seeing as how he’s currently out promoting his new book, I Feel Like Going On: Life, Game, and Glory, but he’s really not doing himself any favors right now.

As we told you yesterday, Lewis uses the book to explain why he couldn’t have possibly committed murder back in 2000. In his mind, the clothing that he wore to a Super Bowl XXXIV afterparty was far too nice for him to commit a murder that night, which is what he was accused of doing before the murder charge against him was eventually dropped.

And if you’re not buying that defense, well, Lewis has another one that he provided on ESPN’s SportsCenter earlier today.

“First of all, they’re four of five freaking inches shorter than me, right?” he said while referencing Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar, the two men who were killed at the 2000 party. “Why would I fight somebody anyway?”

Lewis went on to explain that he still thinks about that night everyday, but he also added that the fallout from it had “nothing to do with me, but everything to do with my skin color and everything to do with my name.”

Yeah, like we said, stop talking. We get that there’s really no way for Lewis to talk about his book without talking about the murder case he was involved in, but there’s definitely a better way for him to go about doing it. You can watch his full SportsCenter interview here.
