Thierry Henry thinks the Premier League is ready for its first openly gay player.

The Arsenal legend and Sky Sports pundit spoke on the issue of gay players in soccer after The Mirror reported that two top flight stars, including an England international, are about to come out about their sexuality.

Appearing on Sky News, Henry says playing with a gay teammate would not have changed anything:

"I think it’s great for the game, we’re going forward, it’s great for anyone, for any human being. If you are confident enough to come and say it and then live with it and embrace it, then do it.

LA Galaxy's Robbie Rogers is one of the world's only professional soccer players to have come out as gay, and he did so during Henry's time in MLS with the New York Red Bulls. Check out the video above to hear Henry talk about the possibility of gay players taking part in the Premier League in the near future.
