Earlier today, Florida defensive back Deiondre Porter was arrested by Gainesville police on five charges, including aggravated battery, two charges of assault with a deadly weapon and for "shooting into or throwing deadly missiles into dwellings." The police summary indicates that Porter got into two separate arguments with his girlfriend, who was 10 weeks pregnant at the time, on Sept. 29.

The confrontation occurred over an accusation by Porter that his girlfriend was cheating on him with one of his teammates. During their first dispute, the Gators redshirt freshman allegedly held a gun to her head. Around five hours later, they were arguing once again. This time, though, Porter allegedly fired the handgun in her direction. The bullet went through a wall she was leaning against and he left the residence shortly thereafter.
