So this is terrifying.

Less than three weeks ago, Giants tight end Daniel Fells hauled in three catches for 27 yards to help the G-Men win their first game of the 2015-16 NFL season against the Redskins. Today, he's fighting for his life. His NFL career is also reportedly over, and he may need to have his right foot amputated as a result of a MRSA infection.

According to Bleacher Report, Fells has undergone five surgeries since doctors first diagnosed the staph infection on October 2, and he has had several parts of his foot removed to try and ward off the infection. MRSA is a life-threatening disease that is resistant to antibiotics, which makes it difficult to beat. Fells is reportedly doing better now than he has been doing in recent days, but doctors are considering removing his foot to stop the MRSA from making its way to his bloodstream. If that were to happen, the MRSA could threaten Fells' life.

The Giants gave Fells a game ball via Skype after their win against the 49ers last night:

"We dedicated the game to Daniel Fells. On Skype in our team meeting today we showed him the game ball." - Coach Coughlin

But he clearly needs some prayers right now, so send them his way. Like we said, this is terrifying.
