Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez Are Finally Going to Fight

We're willing to bet this will be the fight of the year.

You guys should care more about this fight than you did for that "better late than never" snoozefest that was Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao. Middleweight champ Miguel Cotto and junior middleweight belt holder Canelo Alvarez are set to fight on November 21 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. After a round of botched negotiations, the fighters instead fought Daniel Geale and James Kirkland, respectively—hardly box office names. With Mayweather on his way out and Manny being a shell of his former self, the winner of this fight has the chance to be the biggest name in the sport. They have agreed to fight at 155 pounds.

This has the chance to be the fight of the year. Both fighters love to brawl, don't really play defense, and are warriors. Canelo has the advantage in age and reach, but Cotto has him in the experience department. They also have humongous fan bases that should help them rake in the pay-per-view dollars. This fight will make us forgot about Mayweather/Pacman. Boxing ain't dead yet.
