Dolphins Head Coach Joe Philbin Cancels Walk-Through, Takes Team to See "Straight Outta Compton"

Finally, a head coach who has his priorities straight.

Today the Dolphins'Joe Philbin acted a little less like a head coach in the ultra-competitive NFL, and a little more like a cool teacher you had who later got fired. With his team in North Carolina to face-off against the Panthers in Week Two of the preseason, Philbin cut-out the always tedious walk-through portion of his team's practice session to take them on a grown men field trip to see Straight Outta Compton (this according to Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero):

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin cancelled today's walk-thru and took team to see Straight Outta Compton. Yes, team bonding on the road.

We really won't know if this move worked or not for months. But Philbin is regarded by many to be a name on the constantly refreshing list of NFL coaches on the hot seat. So it's likely he'll be pulling out all the tricks he's accrued over his 13 years on pro sidelines to keep his ass from bursting into flames this season.
