Matt Barnes played the past three seasons with DeAndre Jordan as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.

But since being traded to Charlotte this summer and ending up with the Memphis Grizzlies, Barnes has no plans to take it easy on his former Clippers teammates, or on Jordan specifically.

"I told him, 'Even though we're good friends, I'm still going to foul the beep out of you when we play,'" Barnes said Tuesday during his introductory press conference in Memphis. "That's just the kind of player I am. There's no hard feelings."

Barnes is indeed thatkind of player. But it's not likely that's what he means where Jordan is concerned.

The two were seen hanging out together at a Future show in Las Vegas as recently as last weekend, so the friendship remains firmly in place. Considering the fact that Jordan managed to shoot just 39.7 percent from the free throw line last year, and that he's led the league in field goal percentage in each of the last three seasons, fouling him is indeed the best option. Barnes just might know that better than anyone else.
