For years they loved him, then they temporarily hated him, now they're back to loving him. That's how it is in the world of sports when you have an unceremonious (and very public) way of passing the torch. But tonight Brett Favre returned to Lambeau Field tonight and was welcomed by a crowd of 67,000+ as he joined the Packers Hall of Fame and became the sixth member of the organization to have his jersey retired. Gone were any lingering traces of resentment from either side.
First, Favre entered to a two-and-a-half minute standing 'O':
And was hailed with "M-V-P!" chants (even though he's not playing anymore):

In addition to this evening's ceremony, Favre will have his No. 4 officially retired Thanksgiving night when Green Bay hosts the Bears on national TV.
