Dez Bryant Might Skip the Cowboys' Season Opener If the Team Doesn't Give Him a New Contract

Would Dez Bryant actually do this?

Dez Bryant wants the Cowboys to give him a new contract. The Cowboys don't want to do it. So at the moment, the Pro Bowl wide receiver is reportedly thinking about trying to force Jerry Jones to make a move by threatening to sit out the Cowboys' season opener against the Giants in September.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that Bryant is going to skip the first game next season if the Cowboys don't give him a long-term contract by July 15. Bryant himself has not confirmed this, but he hasn't signed the franchise tag for the 2015-16 NFL season yet. That means that there's a good chance that his contract could become an issue this summer—and that it could end with him telling the Cowboys to pay up, or else...

As a Giants fan, I fully support Bryant's decision to do whatever he can do to get paid. And if that means missing Week 1 against the G-Men? So be it! Just make sure you're back for Week 2 against the Eagles, okay, Dez?
