It wasn't exactly a surprise when the Bulls decided to part ways with their head coach Tom Thibodeau yesterday. There had been rumors about him getting fired circulating for weeks now. But given the success that he had with the team, it was kind of surprising to see things get so messy. The Bulls went as far as to throw shade in Thibs' direction on his way out.
But there might be a reason for that. According to CBS Chicago columnist Dan Bernstein, there were quite a few Bulls players who didn't see eye-to-eye with Thibs. And if Thibs' own players—hell, his own starters—didn't like him, it's probably safe to say that there were others within the organization who had a problem with him as well.
Who were the three starters? Derrick Rose? Jimmy Butler? Joakim Noah? We'll let you guess. But regardless, it sounds like it was definitely time for a change in Chicago.
