People keep on giving Rob Ford jobs.

The ex-mayor of Toronto, known more for his drug use and expletive-filled rants than his politics, was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum board of directors during a meeting on March 25, but the announcement was first made public today.

Ford told the Canadian press that he played hockey as a kid, which is a wonderful image to think about, and that he wanted to promote the game to the youth as much as a man with his reputation can.

"When people call me they know they're getting someone that's experienced," Ford told CTV News. "I've got season tickets to the Leafs and I'm obsessed with hockey and obviously football but hockey's my number one sport and I'm going to try to just keep pushing it."

Ford does love his Toronto Maple Leafs, and rocks a mean jersey whenever he hits up the Air Canada Center like a true champion. His hockey credentials don't exactly scream "put me on the board for the Hockey Hall of Fame," but I guess his celebrity will bring a fair amount of attention to the sport. You know, when he's not making beats, or swigging beers or any of those other extracurriculars he loves so much.
