Jon Jones was recently arrested for a felony hit-and-run charge. That in turn led to Dana White taking to Fox Sports 1 tonight, where he announced the swift punishment for Jones' alleged transgression. In addition to his light heavyweight title being snatched from him, Jones was also suspended from the organization indefinitely (meaning no UFC 187 appearance in late May). Instead, Daniel Cormier (the guy Jones defeated back in January) will face off against Anthony Johnson for what was Jones' title.

Previously, the judge for Jones' bail hearing allowed the fighter to have no travel restrictions so he could defend his title in Las Vegas. Obviously, that no longer matters.

In case you hadn't seen it, Jones was the alleged driver in a three-car hit-and-run that occurred Sunday morning in Albuquerque, N.M. He is said to have run a red light and struck the car of a pregnant woman, breaking her arm in the process. He then reportedly took off on foot before returning later to grab some cash out of the car.

Though he's not currently facing any drug charges, police also found marijuana along with a pipe in his rented Buick.

For his part, Jones tweeted this out earlier tonight:

UPDATE:

Reebok has cut ties with Jones, effective immediately:
