Last Friday night, WWE held a special event at Madison Square Garden. At the site of New York's worst basketball team ever the first Wrestlemania, WWE had a "house show"—a non-televised celebration of their legends. John Cena, Triple H, and a handful of other WWE stars of past and present were on the card, but the night was immortalized with a tribute to Hulk Hogan.

To top off the elaborate tribute, WWE raised a Hulk Hogan banner to MSG's rafters, wedged between championship banners from the Knicks and Liberty. This was all very exciting!

1.

FOREVER brother, FOREVER. Well, just days later, the banner was taken down.

Whoops. WWE quickly backtracked on the tweet, telling Business Insider, "The banner was a part of our show and was never intended to stay at MSG.”

Given that Hulk Hogan's career trumps anything the Knicks or Liberty have done in his lifetime (okay the Knicks two titles in the 1970s, but Hogan's a 12-time champion), this is disappointing news.
