England international and Sunderland winger Adam Johnson was arrested earlier this morning at his mansion in Durham, England. According to neighbors, three unmarked cars and a van containing policemen arrived at Johnson's home. After about 20 minutes inside, Johnson was arrested and taken into custody.
Police spent the remainder of the day at the property, and new details into Johnson's arrest were recently made available. A Durham police spokeswoman said, "A 27-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16. He remains in police custody and is helping officers with their inquiries." The police have yet to name Johnson as their suspect, but English media has already put two and two together.
