According to Floyd Mayweather, he has not agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao on May 2 as some media outlets have reported over the last few days. However, it does sound like Mayweather and Pacquiao have come to an agreement on at least one aspect of their fight. Pacquiao has reportedly agreed to the Olympic-style drug testing that Mayweather prefers in the months, weeks, and days leading up to the proposed fight. And he says that he'd even be willing to pay a $5 million fine if he were to fail a drug test.

"We agreed that this fight has to happen," Pacquiao said earlier this week. "We are ironing out the kinks. He said he wants the fight to push through. We agreed to their [drug-testing] demand. In fact, I suggested a $5 million fine if I test positive for drugs."

Assuming Pacquiao and his team have actually agreed to Mayweather's drug-testing stipulations—we don't know what to believe anymore!—this would be a big development. Back in 2010, Mayweather and Pacquiao came extremely close to agreeing to a fight, but Pacquiao's side wasn't comfortable with the drug-testing demands that Mayweather put in place. So they backed out and, five years later, the fight still hasn't happened.

Stay tuned to see if this latest wrinkle in the never-ending Mayweather/Pacquiao saga gets us any closer to an actual fight.
