Kendrick Perkins Will Sign With the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs will bolster the middle of their defense even more with the signing of Perkins

Kendrick Perkins is widely expected to join the Cleveland Cavaliers after he is officially bought out by the Utah Jazz, according to ESPN's Royce Young

Perkins has been with the Oklahoma City Thunder since 2011, where his role has slowly deteriorated from "middle of the lane enforcer" into "gargoyle statue with horrible goatee." In Cleveland, he can morph back into the intimidating threat he once was on defense, grabbing rebounds and putting dudes on their asses while smoke puffs out of his ears.

Perkins, who was reportedly also being courted by Chicago and the Los Angeles Clippers, was personally recruited by LeBron James, according to ESPN. And when the King comes calling, it's hard to say no.

If anyone saw the Cavs beat down of the Washington Wizards last night on national TV, this move now makes them even scarier. A tandem of Timofey Mozgov and Perkins patrolling the middle should only bolster an already pretty good defense. What a difference couple months makes.
