After a brutal loss at home last weekend to the Indianapolis Colts that ended his season in his first playoff game for the ninth time in his career, Peyton Manning really brought an end to his 2014-15 this morning. Through a statement issued by the Broncos, Manning announced that he’ll be skipping the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career when he wasn’t playing in the Super Bowl.

“I've believed that, if healthy, it's a player's responsibility to play in the game because of what it means to be voted in by your peers and the fans,” Manning said. “I'm disappointed that I'm just not healthy enough this year to be part of it. It's going to be tough not being down there with the other guys, but it hasn't had enough time to heal.”

Manning suffered a torn quadriceps muscle in Denver’s Week 15 game against the San Diego Chargers, an injury that severely hampered him on the field and at least in part led to the Broncos’ early playoff exit.

With Manning bowing out of the Pro Bowl, there’s a chance we’ve seen the all-time great’s final game as a pro. The QB is 38 years old and has a significant injury history, and as such there has been a lot of speculation that he may call it quits this offseason.
