Even though the trade deadline is still over a month away, there's really no point in waiting to pull the trigger if you got a deal lined up. That could be the thinking behind a potential NBA trade that involves the Thunder, Nets and Hornets swapping assets.

If the rumors are true, the Nets would send Brook Lopez to the Western Conference to play for Oklahoma City. The Hornets would then give Lance Stephenson to Brooklyn (his hometown team). Brooklyn could also receive Kendrick Perkins from OKC. Then Charlotte would receive a guard from each team, those names would include Jarrett Jack (Brooklyn) and Jeremy Lamb (Oklahoma City, obviously).

In addition, the Nets have also been shopping Lopez to the Miami Heat, but details on who else would be included are sparse.

The trade would represent a shake-up for three teams desperately in need of one. Brooklyn has lost seven straight after evening up their record at .500. The Hornets find themselves already hating (and have been for awhile) the three-year deal they inked Stephenson to this past summer. And the Thunder are finding it difficult to overcome their myriad of early season injury problems while they face the very real possibility of missing the postseason altogether.

We'll be sure to update if this trade happens. We'll also be sure to update if it falls through.
