English League Two side Accrington Stanley couldn’t wait to host Premier League giants Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup this past weekend. The only problem was that Stanley lost their second round replay to Yeovil by a 2-0 scoreline, eliminating them from the competition.

To complicate matters further, the club had already printed 250 tickets for the match against Manchester United. But fans were so excited just to have their club mentioned with United, that they bought the tickets as souvenirs of what could’ve been.

In fact, tickets sold out in just 36 hours of going on sale.

Club chairman Peter Marsden confirmed the club raised £5,000 in sales, and said that the money would be used to help Stanley bolster their squad.

In case you were wondering, United beat Yeovil 2-0 on Sunday.
