Marco Reus is a 25-year-old German soccer starlet, who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund, but is coveted by several of the biggest clubs in Europe. And while he rarely puts a foot wrong on the field, the same cannot be said of his moves on the road.

According to German newspaper Bild, Reus has been motoring around Europe without a license since 2011. Well, Reus’ joyride has come to a screeching halt. Authorities have recently discovered the violation, though Reus reportedly has been issued no less than five speeding tickets since he got behind the wheel in 2011, and have slapped @woodyinho with a $665,000 fine. The largest automobile related fine in German history.

Here’s what Reus had to say on the situation:

“I decided back then to take that road but the reasons I did it are something I cannot really understand today… Today I know that I was too naïve and that it was stupid. I have learned my lesson and this will not happen again.”

We can’t understand it either, fam.
