Derek Jeter wants to own an MLB team sometime in the near future. He's gone on the record in the past and talked about it. But is he already looking into the possibility of actually doing it?

Probably not. After all, he just retired from the Yankees. But earlier this week, Jeter reportedly took a tour of the Marlins' new ballpark with Miami owner Jeffrey Loria:

And despite the fact that that's not exactly concrete evidence that he's in the market for a team, Jeter's tour has caused all kinds of wild speculation. The New York Post wrote this about it. NBC Sports chimed in as well. And sports talk radio host Andy Slater, who sent out the original tweet about Jeter's tour, added some fuel to the fire earlier today with this tweet:

As of right now, Jeter's camp has refused to comment on his possible interest in buying the Marlins. But this is something that you should probably keep your eyes on if you're a baseball fan. If nothing else, it'll keep the idea of Jeter buying a team alive for the next few months. Stay tuned to see if he actually does it, though.
