'NBA 2K15' Adds Former Baylor Center Isaiah Austin as Playable Character

2K Sports adds former Baylor center Isaiah Austin as a playable character in their NBA franchise.

Back in the summer, NBA commissioner Adam Silver (or somebody close to him) came up with the idea of drafting Baylor center Isaiah Austin with a ceremonial pick in the 2014 Draft. The goal was to give Austin a small tribute, since the former projected first-rounder could no longer play competitively due to being diagnosed with Marfan syndrome.

Today on their Instagram feed, 2K Sports followed the NBA's lead by announcing that they had added Austin to the free agency pool of NBA 2K15 where he's a 73 overall (making him comparable to Michael Beasley and Rashard Lewis, among others):

The move wasn't lost on Austin who shared his thanks to the 2K team on his Twitter account, saying that it had "always been a dream" of his to be in a video game.

Though if he's like us, he's probably just been creating himself as a "99" for years.

But it was still a pretty cool ass gesture.
