The Marlins have been notoriously frugal when it has come to paying players in recent years. In fact, last season they had the second-lowest payroll in all of Major League Baseball. But according to CBS Sports, the Miami franchise just agreed to a new 13-year deal with their superstar Giancarlo Stanton and, assuming the deal goes through, it will pay him a ton of money.

Stanton and the Marlins reportedly have a deal worth $325 million in place. It would give Stanton the largest contract in North American sports history. And while the 25-year-old outfielder would be allowed to opt out of the contract a short time after he turns 30 if he so chooses, he would still stand to make a ridiculous amount of money over the course of the next six or seven years.

Stay tuned to find out more details about the contract, which has not been finalized as of yet.
