Before you learned to read, you had to make sense of everything by just looking at pictures and using common sense. Literacy may of improved your life exponentially, but you still revert back to the helplessness of youth whenever you see a sign, a brochure, or a confusing-ass play about a former NBA All Star in a foreign language.
