The Kansas City Royals didn't have an answer for San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner all World Series long. Giants manager Bruce Bochy knew this, so when San Francisco took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 4th inning following Michael Morse's broken bat RBI single, he called upon Bumgarner to finish it off and get them the W. And he did just that.

For the third time in five years, the Giants have won the World Series, defeating a Cinderella Royals team that practically had the entire nation in their corner and breaking a 35-year record where the last team to win a Game 7 on the road was the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1979.

While Pablo Sandoval set a record for most hits in a single postseason with 26, the main focus will (and should) be on the utterly dominant performance by World Series MVP Bumgarner, who appeared in three games, threw 291 pitches and gave up only one earned run. Kansas City is going to have nightmares about Madison all winter long and rightfully so. The Royals had a great ride, but Bumgarner was unstoppable.
