Jameis Winston clearly needs some kind of mentor in his life. For whatever reason, he just keeps getting into trouble. So he needs someone to guide him through the next few years. He needs someone who can help him make the transition from being a college football player with a lot of promise to an NFL star. He needs someone like…Bo Jackson.

But unfortunately, Jackson will not be serving as the Florida State quarterback's mentor anytime soon. Because during an appearance on The Jim Rome Show, Jackson said that he tried to mentor Winston earlier this year but that Winston didn't want to listen to what he had to say.

"I really don't know who is giving this young man guidance," he said. "I have communicated with him and I just talked to him like I was his dad. The things that you need to do. And this was before the incident where he was [suspended] from the baseball team [for stealing crab legs]. I'm the type of person, I will go out of my way to help anybody. Normally, I don't like giving people advice if I haven't been down that road myself. But if I give you advice on something that I know more about than you by just falling out of bed in the morning, if you can't take that advice and learn from it, then I've got nothing else to do with the situation. You're on your own."

Yikes. Jackson was also asked to elaborate on what exactly he told Winston and, while he wouldn't give a direct answer, it does sound like he was very upfront and direct with him.

"If I told you what I told him," Jackson said, "it'll probably singe the hairs in your ears."

Bo knows, Jameis! Why the heck wouldn't you listen to him?
