Formerly the girlfriend of Argentinean soccer legend Diego Maradona, 24-year-old woman Rocio Oliva released a video today showing Maradona physically assaulting her. In the video, the embattled former head coach of the Argentinean men's national team is shown throwing fists at Oliva while he is visibly intoxicated.

According to the Argentinean TV station Ciudad, Oliva is heard screaming, "Stop! Stop! Stop hitting, Diego!" They also state that the argument began as a result of Maradona's irritability toward Oliva due to her cellphone use.

Maradona has a lengthy history of violence and unpredictability. In August, he was captured on video slapping a reporter after he thought the journo had winked at his ex-wife.

However, this incident is particularly disturbing. According to the reports from Ciudad, the clip had been recorded months ago, but is only now emerging due to the fraught relationship between Maradona and Oliva. The two broke up in June, after which Oliva told the press that she was a victim of domestic violence. After threatening to show the evidence for her claim, Oliva entered a brief period of reconciliation with Maradona. However, the two are once again off. As a result, another disgraceful dimension of Maradona's personality has come to light.
