As cars have become more computerized people have raised legitimate concerns about hacking. The Tesla Model S, with its 17-inch touchscreen display, has potential to be taken over by a hacking wiz. That's why the 2014 SyScan Conference is offering $10,000 to whoever can hack the touchscreen to browse the Internet and access the car's controls.

Tesla has no part in the competition, but if anyone is successful they could become valuable to the electric car company. After all, the best way to protect your systems is to find out how to break into them.
