Women make up more than 50 percent of the U.S. population, so it wouldn't make sense for car companies (or any company, really) to ignore what they want. That's why Elon Musk said the Tesla Model X will cater more to females than the Model S did.

At a shareholder meeting Monday Musk admitted the electric car manufacturer "probably got a little too guy-centric on the S.  So, we're hoping to correct that with the X." He want on to say the Model X production version "looks different from [what we've seen before], it looks better."

Getting the gull-wing doors just right proved particularly difficult. Musk said when they open he wants the framing to feel like a work of art. Ditto for the seats. Now we just need to see the work of art on the streets already. But we'll have to wait until next year for that.
