The Rolls-Royce Phantom, Drophead coupe, and Ghost have all had their time as rap's car darlings, but now a new double R has taken over: the Wraith. After debuting at car shows in 2013 it didn't take long for the Wraith to make it into songs. In fact, the Wraith was in lyrics before it was even in showrooms. And once it finally did go on sale several rappers copped their own.

The Wraith is perfect for rappers. It's flashy (look at the suicide doors), expensive, and luxurious. It's also got a menacing name, continuing Rolls-Royce's pattern of naming cars after ghosts (the original Wraith was produced in 1938-'39). Something new could win over the hearts of rappers any day, but right now The Rolls-Royce Wraith Is Rap's Newest Car Obsession.

Raekwon

We don't usually think car references when it comes to Raekwon, but apparently the Chef is a big fan of the Wraith. He rapped about the coupe in his verse on Jhene Aiko's "The Worst (Remix)," and again on his own "The Living Room" freestyle. He also had a shout-out on "Son of Sam" just two months after the Wraith was debuted, which could make it the first Wraith reference in hip-hop.

Game has a Rolls-Royce Ghost, but that hasn't stopped him from shouting out the Wraith. On "Who Do You Love (Remix)," he rapped: "Rollin’ down Wilshire in the Wraith, shout to Biggie/Got my 2 Chainz on feelin’ like Tity."

Jadakiss

Jadakiss has rapped about the Wraith twice, but it's not clear if he's actually copped one. His line on Fabolous' "The Hope" was very noncommittal: "I might do the Wraith, maroon with the beige/Bad bitch with me, doobie with the shades."

Meek Mill

Meek Mill has rapped about the Wraith a few times, but unlike the other rappers on this list so far, he actually owns one. His line on Future's "Shit Megamix"—"Chief Keef 300 for the Wraith nigga"—was $15,100 off, though. The Wraith retails for $284,900.

French Montana

French Montana previously picked up Chad Ochocinco's Rolls-Royce, only to sell it a month later. Now that he's picked up the "cocaine white" Wraith we hope he keeps it for a bit longer. Or at least long enough to start referencing it in his songs, which has yet to happen.

Swizz Beatz

Swizz Beatz showed off his Wraith in a classic humblebrag. He took to Instagram to share his flat tire with the caption "NYC never fails. #potholecity But I still love my city. LMAO :) #icantcomplainiswear." We wouldn't be complaining either.

Rick Ross

Rick Ross has by far been the biggest Wraith enthusiast in hip-hop. With Maybach's demise we speculated on what MMG would get behind next, and it's clear Rolls-Royce has stepped up. Last December Ricky Rozay took delivery of a black Wraith and posted a video of the moment to YouTube. He's also name-dropped his car in three of his own songs, "Mafia Music III," "Sanctified," and "Thug Cry," as well in a couple guest verses. At this point we wouldn't be surprised if he got the double Rs tatted on him.
