The LAPD is starting to build the coolest vehicle fleet in the country. First it copped a Lamborghini Gallardo, and now the department got its hands on a military-grade electric motorcycle. But unlike the Lambo, the LAPD actually had to pay for this one.

Right now the cops have just one Zero MMX as part of a pilot project. Beyond being cool as hell, the electric motorcycle offers the advantage of stealth and being super cheap to charge—less than $.50, in fact. If things go well, the LAPD says it will purchase more.

Considering all of the pros, we don't see why that won't happen eventually.
