What's wrong with Roy Hibbert right now? That's the question that everyone is trying to answer. During the 2013-14 NBA regular season, Hibbert averaged about 11 points and 7 rebounds per game and played well enough to be named to the NBA All-Star Game. But he hasn't scored a single point in three of the Pacers' last four games. And on Monday night, he put forth his worst postseason effort yet, logging zero points and zero rebounds in 18 minutes of action. So everyone has been trying to figure out what's going on with him.

Early yesterday, after social media exploded with criticism of Hibbert, a site called Baller Mailoffered up a suggestion. They published a report indicating that Hibbert's teammate Paul George had recently had an affair with Hibbert's fiancée Valerie Cooke. And while that seemed ridiculous to us, the report grew legs, spread like wildfire on social media, and eventually turned into one of the most logical explanations for why Hibbert has been struggling so badly lately. Gotta love the Internet!

The report actually spread so quickly that, last night, George himself got wind of it and decided to nip it in the bud by posting a photo on Instagram of him and Hibbert:

The caption for the photo read, "These rumors have got to stop! Its getting old now and all you that believe them are ignorant! #Brothers"

Normally, we would advise George not to even bother addressing a rumor as silly as this one. All it does is fuel people to continue commenting on it. But in this case, Hibbert is dealing with so much right now that it's nice to see George sticking up for him by shutting down the rumor. Now Hibbert needs to go out on the court tonight and put up some points and grab some rebounds so that people have something else to talk about tomorrow.
