What does any discerning P1 owner buy as a secondary car? Well, according to McLaren, they buy another even more hardcore P1.

Top Gear got the lowdown from insiders at McLaren. It appears that the company will produce a limited run of track-only P1 hypercars for existing customers, once the production of the road car is complete. Considering that the current road-going P1 generates 903-horsepower, this new track car will be a serious, serious piece of technology.

McLaren will fit racing slicks to each of the four wheels, which – among other things – banishes it from using public roads, so the company is set to offer owners a series of track events and driver training courses to allow owners to exercise their track-day hypercars. Any guesses on what it’ll be called?
