We wish there was still real American competition in the top-tier luxury segment. Rolls-Royce and Bentley have been owning that segment for too long. There are some brands in still existence that should be able to operate in that price range: Cadillac and Lincoln, but that's clearly not going to happen. We have a weird Cord-Auburn-Duesenberg fetish, so we'd most want to see Deusenberg, but we'd love to see Packard come back too.

We're not alone. In 1999 a man named Roy Gullickson bought the Packard name and created a concept car in an attempt to revive the brand. The company never took off, but the car has lived on as Gullickson's personal automobile. It's powered by an 8.6L Falconer Racing V12 that makes 440 hp and sends this behemoth to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds.

Now it's going up for auction with no reserve.
