Riding a superbike in the Isle of Man TT is a mix between threading the needle at 200 miles per hour and throwing dice with the devil. It takes some serious chutzpah, so imagine racing the course in a much larger and less-responsive road car.

That’s exactly what Mark Higgins, driver in the British Rally Championship, plans to do in a 2015 Subaru STI. He set the record three years ago in a 2011 WRX STI, and now he’s back to trump it.

Subaru claims to have only modified the car’s suspension to cope with the rapid up-and-down elevation changes Higgins will be experiencing during his three timed laps. He will attempt the record on May 31, June 2 and June 4 during the weeklong Isle of Man TT festivities. The video above shows Higgins’ successful attempt back in ’11.
