Viper production is on a temporary hiatus until June 23, but the same can’t be said about the Viper Club of America. The group, which presumably is comprised of the most interesting and eclectic characters imaginable, decided it would be stimulating to see which ‘Viper’ is faster on the Luke Air Force Base tarmac: a new 2014 SRT Viper or the Air Force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon (commonly referred to as the ‘Viper’ by fighter pilots).

First, a comparison of the two. The F-16 looks to be the likely favorite, thanks to its Mach 2 top speed and the 30,000 pounds of jet thrust it produces. Chrysler’s SRT Viper is admittedly a bit slower at the top end; 206mph compared to the F-16’s 1,320mph, but it does benefit from quick acceleration off the line. An 8.4L V10 will do that.

We’ll refrain from revealing the victor, though it is a blowout for one of these two.
