You really have to give it up for Nick Young right now. His Lakers aren't very good this season, and he has absolutely no chance of playing in the NBA Playoffs. But Swaggy P isn't letting that bring him down. Instead, he's using it as motivation to go out and play hard.
Late last week, Young came out and said that he wants the Lakers to be the "player haters of the year." Basically, he wants them to either beat teams that are already in the playoffs or beat teams that are trying to make the playoffs in order to ruin their seasons. And after the Lakers were able to knock off the Suns last night, he reiterated the sentiment when reporters asked him about the big win:
Nick Young on hurting PHX playoff chances: "Welcome to the Player Haters Ball...we tryin to hate, hate, hate hate..."
That quote is, of course, a reference to this classic Chappelle's Show skit:
And it's just one more reason why we love Swaggy P. Even during a down year, this guy is finding ways to have fun out on the court.
