He's trying to get some shine on his own.

Louisville's loss yesterday isn't made easier by another blow to its emotional core. It's been announced that Kevin Ware will transfer out of the school.

"We wish Kevin godspeed," said Ware's former head coach Rick Pitino.

Of course, Ware received huge attention during last year's Elite 8 game against Duke when an ugly landing snapped his leg in half. The guard had to be carried off the court in a stretcher, but he ended up being one of the main factors behind Louisville's tournament run. The Cardinals rallied around its fallen player, beat Duke, and eventually went on to become the NCAA Champions.

Ware returned for a Nov. 6 exhibition game, but took a medical red shirt after reaggravating that same right leg on Dec. 17.

It's a significant loss for Louisville, but something that Ware had to do. He wasn't going to get that much playing time with how stacked the Cardinals are at the guard position, and he needs to establish himself outside of that ugly moment.
