Back in October, Jim Irsay was up late one night tweeting when someone @-ed him and suggested that he was drinking. And Irsay responded to that person with several angry tweets, including this one that featured Irsay saying he hadn't had a drink in 15 years:

Actually working,sorry naysayers..I don't drink...haven't in over 15 years..I know when your unhappy or jealous it's easy to b mean-spirited

But as it turns out, that might not be true. Because late last night, the controversial Colts owner was arrested in Carmel, Ind. and charged with operating while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. And according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the arrest is related to drunken driving:

Authorities say Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is in jail after being stopped for suspected drunken driving Sunday night.

There aren't a lot of other details available as of right now. But we'll be sure to keep you updated on the situation. In the meantime, check out the thumbs gallery above to see Irsay's mugshot.

UPDATE:

Irsay has reportedly been charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance. Police found prescription drugs in his vehicle after he was pulled over last night.

"During the course of the investigation, Irsay subsequently failed several roadside field sobriety tests," Carmel police Lt. Joe Bickel said in a statement that was released a short time ago.

The Colts have not commented on the matter yet, outside of releasing a short statement to indicate that they are looking into the details of Irsay's arrest.
